I'm Karl Woodbury, author of Hong Kong is Truly a Magical
Place and England is Truly a Magical Place and I would like to
welcome you to my website.
The inspiration behind my books was to highlight how truly magical the world is - exciting places with their stunning landscapes, wonderful nature and fascinating histories and cultures. I started this "truly magical" series with the land of my birth, England. The second book is Hong Kong, a dynamic city which I proudly call home.
Learning can be so much fun and we never stop. I learned so much while researching my books, and I'm still learning today. I hope there are little tales here and there that whet your appetite to find out more.
Whether it's the Battle of Hong Kong or the Battle of Hastings; Dr Sun Yat-sen or Sir Winston Churchill; or The Peak or The Peak District - the Internet and your local library can quench your thirst for more knowledge.
There's more I have included on this website that you won't find in my books; the quirkier side of both Chinese and English culture, fun quizzes and trivia.
I would like to thank my family and friends for their support - in particular my wife Kate, without whom, these books would not have been possible.
